Saint Mary’s College announced on Friday it has launched the largest fundraising campaign in the schools’ 169-year history.
In 2008, the Board of Trustees approved the project to grow the College’s endowment for scholarships, professorships, renovations and other programs. The $80 million “Faith Always, Action Now” campaign will be publicly announced in the O’Laughlin Auditorium on the Saint Mary’s campus Friday night.
Since the campaign started, the school has reached 75 percent of its total goal through gifts and pledges.
Saint Mary’s College President Carol Ann Mooney says the goal of the campaign is focused on raising funds for various projects across campus including financial aid and scholarships, endowments for professorship and the nursing department, the school’s annual fund, expanding athletic facilities and many more.
“The campaign will strengthen our ability to help every single student have the best experiences, come to understand who she is, and develop her own distinctive voice to take into the world,” said Provost and Senior Vice President Patricia Fleming.
The campaign is still accepting donations. Anyone interested in donating should contact the Vice President of College Relations, Shari Rodriguez, at (574) 284-4581 or srodriguez@saintmarys.edu.
