Most of the time, St. Margaret's House in South Bend is a refuge for struggling women and children.
But Thursday, it was adults only. The kids were asked to stay at home, as more than 100 women took part in St. Margaret's annual holiday luncheon.
“St. Margaret's house has been here for 22 years, yes, and this is our gift to the women of St. Margaret's house. Our volunteers cook this meal of ham and cheesy pineapple and green beans almondean and rolls and homemade cookies, just for the ladies as their gift,” said Kathy Schneider of St. Margaret's House.
St. Margaret's is a day center for women and children in poverty that features several programs designed to help families move forward.
