St. Joseph hotel death ruled suicide

ST. JOSEPH The death of an Indiana man who fell five stories from a hotel balcony last month has been ruled a suicide.

38-year-old David Ginter apparently jumped from the balcony at the Silver Beach Hotel.

An extensive police report obtained by The Herald Palladium shows that the railings around the balcony were too high for Ginter to have fallen. Plus police don’t believe his girlfriend, who was in the bathroom at the time, could have pushed him over.

Ginter was drinking heavily that night and had attempted suicide once before.
