ST. JOSEPH, Mich. -- A St. Joseph, Michigan, firefighter is retiring earlier than expected because of legal troubles.

Spencer Johnson, 55, pleaded no contest this week to a charge of indecent exposure.

Our reporting partners at The Herald Palladium say he was arrested last month at the Lincoln Township Beach Nature Center near Stevensville.

He was alone in his car when a police officer parked next to him saw him engaged in inappropriate behavior.

Johnson was sentenced to one year probation.

He has retired since the incident.
