ST. JOSEPH, MICH. It has been a tough winter in Michiana, in terms of both snow and cold.
The city of St. Joseph dealt with a record number of water main breaks this year. The Herald Palladium reports that there have been 42 since December. That beats the previous record of 36 set in 1998, which was the first year this type of data was recorded.
On an average year, the city deals with 20 breaks during the winter.
