A living tree sign that has commemorated South Bend's relationship with Studebaker for 75 years will be celebrated this weekend.
The St. Joseph County Parks Department is hosting the Studebaker Tree Diamond Jubilee on Sunday at Bendix Woods County Park.
The event will feature tours of the former Studebaker Club House, an ice cream social, hayrides and Studebaker cars.
Nearly $40,000 has been raised so far to restore the pine trees that together spell out the Studebaker name as seen from overhead.
The original fundraising goal was $45,000, but Parks Director Evie Kirkwood says that could increase to about $50,000 if more equipment is needed for the project.
The celebration is from 1-5 p.m. There is a $7 vehicle entrance fee.
