The jail door problem at the St. Joseph County Jail is almost fixed. Doors at the jail had to be opened with a key after the automated system shut down last week.
Authorities say the lobby doors of the jail still need to be opened manually. And they say, if those doors are opened remotely, the entire system goes down.
Regular visitation was held this weekend at the jail. Police say the doors within the jail are currently operated as designed and are able to be remotely operated. There was no security breach during the problem.
