A St. Joseph County grandmother has a lot to be thankful for this holiday season, including a horrible toothache.

On Tuesday, after a few days of suffering from throbbing pain, Jackie Gibson of Mishawaka finally gave in and went to the dentist. And she is very glad she did.

Not only did the dentist give her a prescription to ease her toothache, but filling that prescription put her in the right place at the right time to buy a $150,000 top-prize winning scratch-off ticket.

While waiting for her prescription to be filled at the Meijer pharmacy on Grape Rd., Gibson purchased a $5 Cashta$tic ticket out of the vending machine and realized the next morning that she had hit the jackpot.

The lucky grandmother plans to use her winnings for more dental work.
