ELKHART, Ind.-- The water level at the Elkhart hydro-electric station was lowered two feet in December in an effort to prevent ice buildup on the CR 17 bridge.

Beginning Monday the water level will be raised two feet.

If you have a home along the St. Joseph River and within eight miles of the plant, you may want to finish work along the bank before the level rises.

The hydro-electric plant provides enough electricity to power 3,500 homes.
