A jury convicted a St. Joe County man on five charges after he crashed into police cars in a high-speed pursuit earlier this year.
Joseph Stambaugh, 38, was fleeing police after being pulled over when he collided with two police cars along the 700 block of Eddy Street. When Stambaugh attempted to flee the scene he was shot seven times by the two police officers.
Today, the jury found Stambaugh guilty of operating a vehicle after a lifetime suspended license, resisting law enforcement, possession of cocaine and marijuana, and false informing. In total, Stambaugh was convicted of three felony and two misdemeanor counts.
He will appear again in court for sentencing on November 28 and will remain in the St. Joe County Jail until that date.
