Hundreds of students at Berrien Springs High School got an extreme look at their future, if they make poor choices.
Tuesday morning around 500 students gathered in the gym at Berrien Springs High School.
They heard about everything from drugs, dating and dangerous people.
Although the school is in a rural setting, the speaker, Phil Chalmers says it’s important to get through to the kids by grabbing their attention with vivid examples.
Chalmers says it's a generation that needs a bold message or else they won't change.
“This is a very desensitized generation,” says Chalmers. “When they go home from school… they go home and fill their minds with rape, sodomy, torture and murder. If I don't make it real and edgy, they won't listen to me.”
One of the issues Chalmers really wanted to hit home with the crowd was bullying. He showed them several pictures of students who were bullied or picked on at school and then later came back to shoot and kill several people.
