South Bend man sentenced in connection to shooting death

A 21 year-old who pleaded guilty to taking part in the shooting death of a South Bend teenager last year in a McDonald's parking lot is headed to prison.

Kyle Bishop pleaded guilty back in September to assisting a criminal. On Thursday he was sentenced to four years behind bars.

Derik Lockhart, 17, of South Bend, was killed in April 2010 after he was shot in the head at the McDonald's off Lincolnway East in Mishawaka. The shooting started with a fight over a girl.

Alex Robertson has already been found guilty of killing Lockhart. Kyle Bishop drove him away from the scene after the shooting. Robertson was sentenced to 55 years.
