SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- Music is taking over South Bend this weekend.
The South by South Bend Music Festival kicked off Thursday.
It's a four-day festival that celebrates live music, with more than 60 bands at 20 different venues.
The festival encompasses downtown as well as many South Bend neighborhoods.
Festival-goers enjoyed the sounds of "Sailor and the Sea" and "William Murray" at the South Bend Chocolate Café Thursday night.
“People often erroneously think there's no culture in South Bend, and there's a great music scene, there's so much for people to see and do.”
“It's a great day for weather, great day for music, I think they augment each other,” said Matthew Eng, who attended the festival.
If you'd like to take part in the event, it begins Friday at 6:30 p.m.
That's when the near northwest neighborhood and the East Bank Village will be featured.
