The South Shore will bus passengers between South Bend and Michigan City Monday and Tuesday because of expected cold temperatures.

The South Shore's overhead power system between South Bend and Michigan City is old and could fail during extremely cold temperatures.

Regular train service will be provided between Michigan City and Chicago, but passengers should expect delays because of weather related speed restrictions.

Hudson Lake passengers will not be bused. They are asked to drive to the Carroll Avenue station in Michigan City.

Passengers with questions are asked to call 312-836-7000. The South Shore says the lines are busy because of the weather, and callers may experience a busy signal.
