SOUTH BEND, Ind.--- Can South Bend crawl its way into the Guinness Book of World Records?

That's the idea behind an event called "Bend It Till It Breaks".

The current record for the largest pub crawl now belongs to Kansas City. Some 4,885 people took part in KC last June.

On May 3, attempts to break the record will take place in South Bend.
There's a $3 fee to take part, not including the drinks.

Participants must be 21, but don't have to consume alcohol.

Record rules require each pub crawler to drink a half-pint of any liquid at each location.
