Students competed in the 40th annual South Bend Schools Spelling Bee Thursday.
Grades 5 through 8 compete in the event at the Greene Intermediate Center.
It all started at 9 Thursday morning.
Stormteam 16's Gary Seiber was the emcee.
The winners will move on to the regional competition.
