The leaves are starting to fall, and South Bend residents will soon be able to start raking the foliage to the curb.
The city's Street Department will start accepting call-ins Monday October 15, before the official start of the Operation ReLeaf program.
After getting numerous requests from residents and seeing the leaves already piling up, the crews decided to offer early pick-up this fall season.
Call-ins will be accepted until October 31, and the full scale Operation ReLeaf Program will officially kick off on November 5.
The program will run for five weeks, ending December 10.
Residents can call (574) 235-9244 during office hours Monday through Friday to schedule an early leaf pick-up.
