SBPD looking for suspect in Friday stabbing; victim ID'd

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- Police are searching for a man seen fleeing the scene after a stabbing Friday night in South Bend.

David Turbeville, 51, was found in the 200 block of E. Fox Street around 10:45 p.m. He had multiple stab wounds and was taken to the hospital with potentially life-threatening injuries. He is currently in stable condition after emergency surgery.

Police say several people were involved in a dispute in the street before the stabbing.

A witness told police a white male fled the scene in a white pick-up truck heading northbound on Carol Street. The suspect was accompanied by a woman when he left.

No arrests have been made. Anyone with information is asked to call South Bend police or Crime Stoppers at 800-342-STOP.
