From the Office of the Mayor:

All South Bend Parks that closed due to damage from last week’s storms have reopened, with the exception of Keller Park which is closed until further notice.

Solid Waste has resumed regular yard waste pickup and scheduled extra-item pickups.

For yard waste, residents are asked to place brush and prunings in reusable containers, Kraft paper bags, or in bundles with twine or rope that are less than 3 feet long and weigh less than 40 pounds.

A new ordinance banning the use of plastic bags for yard waste collections in South Bend went into effect January 1, 2014.

Residents with large limbs and other tree and shrub debris, larger than 3 inches in diameter and longer than 3 feet, are asked to place the branches at the curb line.

Solid Waste will sweep the City next week, July 14-18, collecting larger branches.
