South Bend, Ind. A young man learned his punishment Thursday for his role in a deadly South Bend shooting.
22-year-old Sylvester Garner was sentenced to 6 years behind bars, and 2 years of probation.
He pleaded guilty to assisting a criminal in connection with the robbery and murder of Dietrich Perkins back in 2011.
That was after an investigation revealed that Garner was present that night, but did not shoot Perkins. 29-year-old Bryant Hunt, 20-year-old Freemond Jordan and 20-year-old Forest Lamar have already been sentenced in connection with the crime.
