SOUTH BEND, Ind.--- A South Bend man has been charged with human trafficking after taking a 15-year-old girl across state lines and sexually assaulting her.

Douglas Jackson, 25, was arrested outside of a Super 8 Motel in Wyoming, Mich. on June 14.

Witnesses say they saw Jackson waving around a pistol while he was in his car with the girl outside of the motel.

Upon arriving at the scene, investigators with the Wyoming Police Department were able to come to the conclusion that he was rubbing the girls private areas, over her underwear, while he was waving around a .380-caliber handgun.

It was later discovered by police that he had wanted to have the girl engage in sexual activities with other men.

Jackson is being charged with human trafficking, which carries a 20 year maximum sentence.

He is also facing charges of fourth-degree criminal sexual conduct, accosting a child for immoral purposes, possession of marijuana and felony use of a firearm.

Jackson is scheduled for a probable cause hearing on Wednesday, June 25, in Wyoming District Court.

Jackson remains in the Kent County Jail on a $20,000 bond.
