South Bend girl is finalist in Doodle For Google competition

Have you ever wanted your child's art work to be displayed for the world to see?

It's happened for one South Bend student.

Madelyn Kanczuzewski, 12, is the winner of this year's Doodle For Google contest for the state of Indiana.

Along with a professional drawing tablet, she won a trip to New York for her art work entitled, “A day at the library: an intellectual adventure,” which depicts the contest's theme of My Best Day Ever.

The piece will be displayed at the American Museum of Natural History in New York, but you can view it on the web and vote for her work to be chosen as the national winner.

If Madelyn is chosen, she'll win a $5,000 college scholarship.

If she's named the national winner, her doodle will be displayed on the Google homepage on May 23.

Madelyn would also receive a $30,000 college scholarship and a $50,000 technology grant for her school.
