A new report finds South Bend is one of the best places for penny-pinchers to live.
Kipplinger's ranks South Bend number 8 on a list of cheapskate cities.
They say the cost of living here is 8 percent below the national average.
That's thanks in part to the University of Notre Dame. The school brings lots of cheap activities and events, like lectures and sporting events.
The report also cites the Snite Museum of Art as part of South Bend's cheapskate appeal. Admission there is free.
Kipplinger's ranks Wichita, Kansas at number one.
