SOUTH BEND, Ind. Schools across the Hoosier state are gaining and losing students because of the state's voucher program.
The Indianapolis Star is reporting that more than 19,000 students have moved to private schools since the program began in 2011.
The information also took a look at how many students public corporations lost because of the program.
In its first year, South Bend schools lost almost 400 students.
This school year, more than 1,500 students left South Bend schools with the help of the voucher program.
PHM also lost students; 61 in the first year, and 137 this school year.
