A South Bend man, 39, will serve nearly 16 years in prison, followed by a lifetime of supervised release, after pleading guilty to charges of enticement of a minor for production of child pornography.
In his plea agreement, Jason Strell admitted to posing as a 17-year-old boy on an Internet chat room last summer, and to talking to a 15-year-old girl from Ohio both online and by phone. Even though the girl told Strell she was a minor, he persuaded her to send him nude pictures of herself. When she did, Strell asked for more, and threatened to post the pictures online if she failed to send more.
Police were able to track down the cell phone and arrest Strell. The case was investigated by the Indiana Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force in St. Joseph County Police, as well as by the F.B.I.
