South Bend The city is expected to receive new bids on an effort to turn parts of Lafayette and Williams Streets into two-way streets in South Bend.

Bids to change the traffic patterns came in way over budget last month. The city had set aside $750,000, but the lowest bid was 51% higher than that.

The city tweaked the project and re-advertised. The South Bend Board of Public Works has a meeting scheduled for 9:30 a.m. Tuesday morning.
