NOTRE DAME, Ind. - Notre Dame officials are hoping software improvements at a power plant will prevent any repeat of Thursday night's power outage.
Last week, the lights went out on and around campus just as the women's basketball game was letting out just after 9 p.m.
Nearby traffic lights were back on within an hour, but it was not until after midnight that AEP restored power to all 750 customers.
A university statement says it all stemmed from a software code issue in a power plant control system.
Notre Dame says the issue has been fixed, and they are working with the power company to make sure it does not happen again.
