Thanks to last week’s winter storm police in La Porte were able to capture an alleged bank robber by following tracks left in the snow.
According to The News Dispatch, Ryan Mounts, 32, was charged Thursday afternoon with Class C felony robbery after police tracked him down by following the footprints he made in the snow.
Last Wednesday investigators say Mounts handed a note to a teller at Fifth Third Bank on Monroe St. and said, quote, “I’m not kidding.” Mounts then told the teller he had a gun and to hand him some money.
Court documents show that officers followed footprints left in the snow to a nearby apartment on Maple Ave. where a search uncovered cash and clothing that matched the description of the robber.
Mounts is scheduled to make his initial court appearance sometime next week.
