South Bend, Ind. There will be no jail time for a former South Bend attorney, who was sentenced Wednesday on three counts of felony forgery.
The sentences imposed on 47-year old Rod Sniadecki were suspended by the judge. Snaidecki was given four years for each count, to be served concurrently. He was also ordered to serve two years on non-reporting probation. The prosecution unsuccessfully argued that the sentence should include some time behind bars.
Sniadecki was convicted in September of committing loan fraud by forging signatures. At the time, he'd already been suspended from practicing law, but didn't tell all of his clients and lied about it in court.
