ELKHART, Ind.--- Crews worked through the night to restore electricity at a northern Indiana high school after a fire damaged equipment.

The fire broke out Tuesday evening at Elkhart Memorial High School, with American Electric Power equipment in a concrete room being damaged.

School district spokeswoman Shawn Hannon tells The Elkhart Truth that no injuries were reported and the interior of the 1,800-student school wasn't damaged.

The fire knocked out power to the school, causing all evening activities to be canceled and the moving of a scheduled school board meeting.

Hannon says electricity was restored to the school about 5 a.m. Wednesday and the school was opening on schedule.
