Slow start, Ziker asks for more prom dress donations

South Bend It’s hard to think of spring cleaning, especially in this weather, but that day is sure to come soon. So, why not get a jump start on it? What you may find could go to a great cause.

That’s because Ziker Cleaners and the Junior League of South Bend are collecting lightly used formal and semi-formal dress donations for the 11th Annual Princess for a Night Event.

It’s where high school girls have the opportunity to get a new or gently used prom dress free of charge. It will all take place at the Century Center in downtown South Bend Saturday, March 29th. The event will run from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Each girl must bring their student ID. The dress selection is based on a first-come first-serve basis. All attendees are asked to arrive by 11:30 p.m. at the latest.

This all could not happen without donations. Right now, they only have about 300 dresses. Last year they had about 1200 dresses so they are asking for your help. If you have a short, long, plain, strapless, one shoulder dress, or anything, you can drop it off at any locations listed below. You have until March 22 to drop off any donation.

Locations:
• 251 E. Sample Street, South Bend
• 340 Bittersweet Road, Mishawaka
• 1808 E. Bristol Street, Elkhart
• 207 Dixie Way South, South Bend
• 2330 South Bend Avenue, South Bend
