The Mishawaka Little League park was hit by over a dozen incidents of vandalism and break-ins recently, and now a local minor league baseball team is jumping into action to lend them a helping hand.
The South Bend Silver Hawks are kicking off an equipment drive the help the Little League recover, donating $500, and giving away tickets to anyone who contributes money or new and gently used baseball equipment.
“I felt it was extremely important for us to step up and help out in any way that we could,” stated Joe Hart, Silver Hawks President.
Donations can be dropped off at Coveleski Stadium during weekday office hours next week, between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m.
The team is accepting minimum donations of $10 in addition to the baseball equipment in exchange for a free ticket voucher redeemable for two free tickets to a Silver Hawks game played between April 8 and 24.
