SOUTH BEND, Ind.-- If you're doing a little spring cleaning this weekend, there are two places you could go and get rid of those documents and old medications you don't need.

A shredding event is being held this Saturday at St. Anthony De Padua School from 9 a.m. till noon.

For a $10 donation Integra Secure Document Shredding and Destruction will shred and recycle your unwanted documents.

Dozens of people got rid of their unwanted pills in an environmentally safe way during Saturday's National Drug Take Back Day.

Prescription drug abuse is more common than cocaine, heroin, and inhalant abuse combined, and a majority of abused drugs are taken from the family medicine cabinet.

Pill drops were held all over the country, including at the fire station on Douglas Road in Mishawaka.

Triad collected the unwanted prescriptions to dispose of them properly so the pills aren't flushed or get into waterways.
