SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- Pounds of unwanted documents were collected and securely shredded Wednesday.

It was all part of the Clean Your Files Day at the former college football hall of fame.

Folks were able to drop off their documents for recycling, free of charge.

It's held in conjunction with South Bend's Earth Day events and Greentown Michiana 2.0.

South Bend has been giving folks this opportunity for about 16 years now.

All of the companies involved donate their time and resources to put this event on to help the public. Each year they are seeing more and more paper come in. Just last year they received more than 30,000 pounds of paper.
