The icy weather has arrived just in time for the annual Shipshewana Ice Festival.
The event has been held every year since 2008.
More than 30,000 pounds of ice have been brought in for this year's festival. Artists will shape those 15 tons of frozen water into animals, toys, foods, and all sorts of ice sculptures.
There is also an ice carving competition, as well as a pageant for the first time this year.
The carving begins at 9a.m. Thursday. The festival runs through Saturday afternoon.
