It's time to let you in on a not-so-little secret: The Secret Sisters Society Luncheon and Style Show is coming up next week.

It's big news for our community, as this organization has helped thousands of local women receive mammograms.

Event chair Jan Rhodes and Ann Rathburn-Lacopo with St. Joseph Regional Medical Center joined us on 16 Morning News to talk about the event. You can watch that interview above.

Reservations for the luncheon can be made until Friday, September 5, by calling 574.335.4545 or by going online to www.sjmed.com/ways-to-give. Just select "Foundation Events."

Secret Sisters has paid for more than $510,000 in screenings over the last decade for about 4,000 women. All donations to the organization stay local and help women in Michiana.

If you or someone you know needs a mammogram or cervical cancer screening, call the United Health Services' Breast Health Programs at 574.247.6053 or 866.247.6446. Women have to be between the ages of 40 and 49 and qualify financially to receive the screenings.
