Elkhart Recently passed referenda mean Elkhart Elementary students get to go home earlier, especially on Wednesdays.

Here's what parents need to know:

Most days, school will let out at 3:35 p.m., 25 minutes earlier than last school year..

On Wednesdays, students will be out 40 minutes early – 2:55 p.m., which is designed to give teachers more collaboration time.

According to our reporting partners at the The Elkhart Truth , money from the referenda will provide more transportation options like this. The plan is to design the routes to provide a shorter ride home

The school day for middle and high school students hasn't been decided yet.
