ELKHART 2014 brings another request for a school referendum. Concord Schools representatives say they cannot survive without it.
The school has asked for a tax levy of $0.405 per every $100 of assessed property value. That adds up to roughly $132 per year for those whose homes are valued at $100,000.
The Elkhart Truth reports that the school board voted Monday night to put the referendum on the ballot in May.
The referendum would provide about $4 million a year to the school, during the seven-year period of the tax levy.
