GOSHEN Goshen schools are making a fill-in position permanent.
The Elkhart Truth reports that the board voted this week to hire 12 full-time substitute teachers. The superintendent says the district uses at least 12 subs every day, and they want to make sure they can keep quality teachers coming back.
Those substitutes will be eligible for health benefits and will be paid $90 per day. That’s $5 more than other substitute teachers.
They will work 170 days of the school year.
