Sanctuary at St. Paul's hosts free chili tasting

South Bend Many of us aren't too happy waking up to the wind and the snow Thursday but you have a chance to get warm and full.

Sanctuary at St. Paul's is hosting its 5th Annual Chili Cook-Off on National Chili Day. From 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. folks can come out and taste six different types of chili and vote for their favorite.

The event is completely free but they are collecting donations for Hope Ministries of South Bend.

Those that are participating are CJ's Pub, Martin's, Javier's Bistro, Texas Roadhouse, Dickies and the Chefs of St. Paul's.

There will be three different awards given out at the end of the event. They are the People's Chili Choice Award, Chef's Choice Award and the Firehouse Award. The Firehouse Award will be given by South Bend Fire Chief, Steve Cox and his crew, along with two former South Bend Fire Chiefs and residents of St. Paul's, Joe Doran and Jack Bland.

Again, the cook-off is Thursday, Feb. 27 from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. at Sanctuary at St. Paul's.
