Saint Joseph High School softball standout commits to Wisconsin

Kelly Welsh, senior-to-be softball standout from South Bend Saint Joseph High School, has committed to play at the University of Wisconsin.

She has helped lead St. Joe to three consecutive Sectional and Regional titles, finishing in the top eight all three seasons.

As a three-year starter, Kelly's achievements include being a 3-time All-NIC selection, third team Indiana All-State selection, team MVP, Offensive and Defensive Player of the Year awards, as well as team captain.

To date, she holds the St. Joe record for steals (46) and is the current career leader in batting average at .465.

Kelly currently plays on the travel team Beverly Bandits-DeMarini and played for the Michiana Mystique the previous four years.

She also received offers from Northwestern, Purdue, and Pittsburgh.
