SOUTH BEND, Ind. - Calls indicating an emergency situation this afternoon turned out to be a false alarm.

South Bend Police and the SWAT team were called out to the 1900 block of W. Sample Street on Monday afternoon.

The incident started with a 911 call that gave police reason to believe there had been a home invasion at the residence.

At first, officers were not able to establish contact with the residents and did not know if anyone was armed inside.

Once inside, officers found two individuals, but no weapons or signs of danger.

One of the individuals was taken in for a medical evaluation. Police believe this situation may have been related to a mental issue.
