South Bend, Ind. Good news for drivers whose commute has been detoured because of construction on S.R. 23.
The road is back open, nearly two weeks earlier than expected.
The stretch between the Five Points intersection and Twyckenham Drive was closed so that workers could construct a new water main.
INDOT says the expansion project will continue in the area, and there will be some lane restrictions until it's completed this fall, but there shouldn't be any more complete lane closures.
