SB man admits to four Michigan bank robberies

A South Bend resident has confessed in court that he committed four bank robberies in a six month period.

The crime spree of 59 year old Dennis Carl Love ended a couple of days after Christmas when he was picked up by police after an attempted robbery in Martin, Michigan.

Last Friday, Love pleaded guilty to one count of bank robbery and one count of brandishing a firearm during a robbery. Three other counts against him were dismissed in U.S. District Court in Kalamazoo under the terms of his plea agreement. However, Love also stipulated for purposes of sentencing that he was responsible for three other heists, including the September 2013 robbery at the Honor Credit Union in Berrien Springs.

Love will be sentenced in August. He faces between seven and 25 year in prison.

Love is a former Nurse who lived in South Bend at a home near Edison Intermediate School.
