The South Bend School Board unanimously passed a joint resolution with the city of South Bend opposing legislation that would reduce or eliminate business personal property taxes in the state of Indiana.

The city of South Bend passed that resolution back on Feb. 10.

Mayor Pete Buttigieg spoke in favor of the resolution, saying that reducing or eliminating the tax is only an acceptable move if the state of Indiana could guarantee replacement state revenue.
