South Bend mayor helps promote healthy school breakfasts

SOUTH BEND, Ind. - Mayor Pete Buttigieg helped serve breakfast to Madison Primary students Tuesday morning.

"Let's Move!" is an initiative launched by First Lady Michelle Obama, and it is dedicated to curbing childhood obesity, through exercise and healthy eating.

Children in the South Bend Community School Corporation are eligible for a free school breakfast.

They are served a fresh fruit or vegetable, along with whole grains and milk.
The mayor says folks have to be in this for the long haul, if they want to have a healthy community.
