SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- There has been some recent tension between some members of the South Bend Common Council.
The situation was compared to the turbulence that occasionally comes with air travel.
Council President Oliver Davis pledged Tuesday that the body would still arrive at its intended destination on time, in terms of producing a balanced budget for 2015, along with new collective bargaining agreements for police and firefighters.
“We come from six different districts with three at large people who have different views, from all different sides of the issue,” Davis said.
Last week the rules committee considered doling out discipline to Councilman Henry Davis Jr. for a controversial Facebook post.
After the heated meeting, another councilman filed a police report, alleging intimidation on the part of councilman Davis' father.
