South Bend, Ind. It is crunch time for the South Bend Common Council as they work to hammer out a budget by next week.
Tuesday night the Common Council held a meeting to get more information about some of Mayor Pete Buttigieg's proposals for 2014.
Among them, Buttigieg wants to convert Downtown South Bend streets from one-way to two-way streets. He is also asking to increase the salaries of several department heads, while merging the Code Enforcement and Building Departments.
The council will discuss the budget Monday afternoon before voting on it during their regular meeting later that evening.
