The new U.S. 31 is already open to drivers, but this Wednesday, it will officially open with a ribbon cutting ceremony.
Indiana Governor Mike Pence and Congresswoman Jackie Walorski will attend the ceremony.
The ribbon cutting will begin at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday on SR 4 at the new U.S. 31 interchange.
SR 4, from the old U.S. 31 to the new U.S. 31, will be closed from 12:30 p.m. Wednesday until 3:30 p.m. for the event.
Governor Pence will dedicate the new U.S. 31 from SR 4 through Lake Trail in St. Joseph County to late representative Dick Mangus, who was instrumental in funding the study and design of the new route.
