UPDATE: Sketch released of Niles Township robbery suspect

Niles Township Anyone with information on an armed robbery over the weekend should contact Crime Stoppers. You may be eligible for a reward.

On Tuesday, officers released a sketch of the man.

The suspect is described as a light-skinned black male in his mid twenties to early thirties, about 6'1" and 210 pounds. They say he had a five o'clock shadow and cracked lips. The suspect was wearing light gray baggy sweat pants, a dark colored nylon jacket and had a black nylon hat on backwards. He also had a small diamond earring in his right ear.

The robbery happened Saturday afternoon, just before 1:30 p.m., at the Allied Cash Advance store off of South 11th Street.

Officers say the suspect showed a gun and demanded money, then assaulted an employee. They were treated at a hospital for minor injuries and released.

The suspect ran away on foot.

If you have any information, call Crime Stoppers at 800-342-STOP. They will pay up to a $1,000 reward for information leading to an arrest.
